Balaji Padmanabhan is Professor and Director of the Center for Analytics and Creativity at USF’s Muma College of Business. He received a B. Tech in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and a PhD from New York University (NYU)’s Stern School of Business. He has worked in the AI, machine learning and analytics areas for over twenty years and is excited about their potential to transform business and society. He has helped organizations with machine learning and data science initiatives in a variety of sectors including financial services, technology, healthcare, manufacturing, services and non-profit. He has over sixty research publications in data science and related areas at premier journals and conferences in the field including ACM KDD, ACM Transactions on MIS, Big Data, Decision Support Systems, IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, Information Systems Research, INFORMS Journal on Computing, Management Science and MIS Quarterly. His expertise includes designing machine learning and analytics algorithms, patterns discovery, building and evaluating predictive models and applications of machine learning and analytics in churn, healthcare, recommender systems, fraud detection and elections. He serves on the editorial board of many leading academic journals and conferences.
